Arcade Nostalgia On The Horizon Of A New Age

My memory of my first arcade game? I was young, I’d heard whispers of a place where kids came together, united in the face of pixelated enemies. A game that was on a computer, something we’d never heard of before. I found myself wandering towards the bright lights, flashing sounds, and big shiny machines.

I remember the feeling bursting inside of me when I won my first game of Pac Man. This was about the coolest thing I’d ever experienced. I had always had a thing for games, even prior to the first arcades and arcade games. Before computer games came to the home PC, I used to subscribe to games magazines which never, strange to think back then that they never mentioned the term computer. Now there are Arcade Machines For Sale that you can buy for your home or business.

This was something completely new and sumptuously intriguing. Countless hours of my well wasted childhood were spent in arcades, long after a lot of beer swilling in the local pub. Arcade games, and computer games have come a long way since then, but nothing can compare to your first time.

Soon after my lascivious experience with arcades and the hypnotizing arcade game, jewels hidden inside, my family bought our first home PC. More commonly referred to as a trash-80. It was here that I heard the cunningly devious game of backgammon. Not sure I would have learned that match without being introduced to it by a computer. It’s not the sort of game that would have

appealed to a veteran of the arcade game wars. Something that belonged to the smoky backrooms of a retirement home.

Next on my list of technological miracles is the Commodore 64. Now here we had a killer arcade game, whenever I gazed upon it, my heart fastened, my palms sweaty, ready for the adventure that awaited. Nowadays, arcades are few and far between, and the Commodore, is just one reason why.

Why spend hours in an arcade, obtaining a machine that will suck and swallow every last pound in my pocket? When I could sit in the luxurious decadence of my basement playing the likes of jump man, and placing arcade game design high scores for my baby brother to try to match. Much like in the arcades where he is humbled before the masses, but this arcade game jewel would serve my purposes none the less.

Old is black is blue, and by the thickness, arises the legends of times and old abandoned. Huh? What I am frothing forth about here, is that arcade games are back with a vengeance. All us old fogies, who recall time spent arcades seeing the neighbourhood masters pummel evil incarnate up until degree 9999 rejoice!

Just Google around a bit to Shop For Arcade Machines. And of course, that a couple of new legends being born in the early art of arcade games. And save your money. These games are free as the air you breathe. Obviously, you better not let those pounds get too much, you’re going to need them to maintain that old jalopy of a Commodore in running order.
